Five Project Limit in Beta...

Hello. I just signed on this morning and am really loving your app. I've tried many GTD apps and yours seems the best suited to my working style. The bad news? I've started adding projects from my notebook only to hit the wall with five projects. Ack! When do you anticipate upping that number?

Thanks for a lean and functional version of GTD. Very nice.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

I agree.  Please consider upping the project count to 50, across the board, or on request.  Thanks.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

ditto.  thanks for a wonderful idea that is hopefully helpful to many people, but it won't be helpful to me (even for testing) with a 5-project limit.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

I'll fourth that request. 50 sounds like something that might do for me. I easily have 20-30 projects that I'd need to get off my mind, maybe even more. And testing a GTD application without being able to dump it all in there doesn't make much sense. Which is a pity, because you've done so many other things "right" with Nozbe.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

I'm in the same boat.  I'd really like to evaluate Nozbe's potential as my GTD manager, and am willing to pay for a web app meets my needs.  However, the five project limit means I can't really try it out as my central task tracker, and using two systems concurrently is impractical.

20-50 simultaneous projects would make Nozbe usable for me.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

I totally second it. You have everything right but the 5 project limit is a roadblock on evaluating your product.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

Hi, I love the look of this, but the five project limit means that I can't use it for now. I think limits go entirely against GTD.

I also would need to add non project actions. Everything doesn't belong to a project, and without this it's also not comprehensive.

I'll be keeping an eye on this product though. In the meantime I've got my implementation of GTD across several products.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

Hi... couple ideas:

1. I'm also voting for a larger number of projects. On the other hand, Peter Drucker always aid, "Don't try to do too many projects at one time", and "Stick to 2 priorities at a time and constantly reassess them".   :-)

2. I wasn't sure if the enhancement request list was moved from or to the HitRSS section of the forum?

3. Would love to see an ability to enter the amount of time taken on a task, so that we could see if our time estimates are accurate, and then show a percentage over or under.  Better yet, include a timer.  I'm currently using My Timeboxing  for this.   I also use TraxTime; if we had multiple contexts, then we could assign projects to a particular client...using the client name as a context.

4. Finally I find the interface to be very distracting, with too many icons, symbols, the Nozbe Blog RSS at the right hand side, etc.  Could you have options to show less?

5. I would seriously consider paying for this, along the model of Backpack, or BaseCamp.

Best wishes, --- Larry

I agree - I like the look of this but I'm not even going to start using it until I have sufficient project allowance!

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

I've played around a little bit, and it seems like this is the GTD app I've been waiting for. It's perfect, and like everyone else, I'd start using it as my main GTD tool if the project restriction were lifted.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

If we upgrade now, will we be required to pay when the site goes out of beta?

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

The workaround for not enough project slots is to make a broad TODO project. Then fill in with actions the varying small step projects.  This works well for the many projects that require only 1 or 2 actions anyway and saves the project slots for multistepped projects.

Re: Five Project Limit in Beta...

Let me clarify this - after "beta" is over, you will have a week or so to choose between keeping your Nozbe plan and if you're in Standard or PRO - pay to maintain this account, or downgrade if you don't want to pay.

You will not be "tricked" or "forced" to pay. It will all be your choice.

The paying accounts are to help us pay the bills and keep us working on improving Nozbe for YOU.
